2014-T6 offers higher strength for heavier loads; 7075-T6 is a high-strength alloy for designs demanding maximum strength and lightness, but needs anodizing for corrosion resistance. The choice depends on load, corrosion requirement and cost.<\/p>\n<h3>How is bolt-hole indexing ensured on the hub?<\/h3>\n<p>Bolt-hole indexing and pitch circle diameter determine how the hub assembles to sprockets or wheel hubs. After heat treatment, AFT machines all bolt holes in one CNC setup so indexing shares one datum, then measures pitch circle diameter, indexing and hole size on Zeiss CMM.<\/p>\n<h3>How does a forged aluminum Forged Aluminum Gear Hub compare with casting or machining from billet?<\/h3>\n<p>Forging shapes aluminum in the solid state under pressure, so the grain flow follows the part contour and the porosity and shrinkage common in castings are avoided. Compared with machining from solid billet, a near-net-shape forging removes less material and shortens machining time.
